Joe was admitted to the Montana Bar in 2000, and is currently a member of the American Bar Association and the Fort Peck Tribal Bar.
Mr. Raffiani is admitted to practice before all Montana State Courts. His practice includes Criminal Defense, Family Law, Indian Law, Personal Injury and Appellate cases.
Mr. Raffiani has also been Associate Appellate Court Justice for the Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes of Fort Peck since 2004. He was also the Eastern District Chair for the Montana State Democratic Party and Yellowstone County Democratic Central Committee Chair from 2010 to 2014.
Maren Hatfield
Maren was admitted to the Montana Bar in 2013. She is starting her fourth year as an Associate with our Firm.
Ms. Hatfield is admitted to practice before all Montana State Courts. Her practice includes Criminal Defense and Family Law.
Kasodie was admitted to the Montana Bar in 2019. She is starting her first year as an Associate with our Firm.
Ms. West is admitted to practice before all Montana State Courts. Her practice includes Criminal Defense and Family Law.
Joe was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He obtained a bachelor of Science degree in History Cum Laude from Northern Michigan University in 2009. After getting married to his wife, Joe attended and graduated law school from the University of St. Thomas. Hearing about opportunity, Joe was admitted to the Montana State Bar in 2013, and joined the Office of State Public Defender in Miles City. Mr. Zavatsky was promoted to Regional Deputy Public Defender in 2014.
Mr. Zavatsky is admitted to practice before all Montana State Courts, Montana Federal District Court, and the District of Colombia. His practice includes Criminal Defense and Family Law.
Joe is operating the Miles City office of the Raffiani Law Firm on a part time basis in addition to his duties to the Office of State Public Defender. He resides in Miles City with his wife, Nicole and two children. Joe enjoys traveling, reading, camping, skiing, and coaching his kids in sports in his down time.
